Near Field is Gambletron’s installation for the 2022 outdoor exhibition, Via Detour, curated by Maria Hinze and Peter Becker at Robin's Nest Baumhaus Hotel in a forest near Kassel, Germany.

Focussed on sustainability and designed to run parallel to Documenta 15, this project connected artists to the nearby Becker Recycling plant where they sourced materials for works later installed in the forest surrounding Robins Nest. The show stayed open functioning in the forest welcoming visitor for two months.

Near Field consists of an FM radio transmitted sound composition resonating through metal objects found at Becker Recycling. This is a third of a series of kinetic transmission feedback sculptures.  The feedback is caused by a magic combination of tone being fed into the metal via transducers and the unholy closeness of FM transmitter and FM receiver antennas interacting adversely causing kinetic movement and rumbling interaction.    INSTAGRAM LINK​
